Terms of Service

1. Service Description

Smart Email Verifier ("the Addon") is a Google Workspace addon published by Makeinfo ("we", "us", or "our") that allows users to verify the deliverability of email addresses directly within Google Sheets. The Addon performs DNS, MX record, and SMTP checks to return a deliverability status for each email address submitted.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By installing or using the Addon, you ("User") agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not install or use the Addon. These Terms apply to all users of the Addon, including users on the free tier and paid subscribers.

3. License

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Addon solely for your internal business or personal purposes. You may not sublicense, sell, resell, or otherwise commercialize access to the Addon.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Addon only for lawful purposes. You must not:

• Use the Addon to build, enrich, or sell email lists for spam or unsolicited marketing.
• Harvest or scrape email addresses at scale in violation of any website's terms of service.
• Attempt to circumvent rate limits, quotas, or access controls.
• Use the Addon to facilitate illegal activities, including violations of the CAN-SPAM Act, GDPR, CASL, or other applicable anti-spam or data protection laws.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Addon or its underlying verification service.
• Use automated scripts or bots to interact with the Addon outside of its documented JSON automation feature.

5. User Responsibilities

• You are solely responsible for the data contained in your Google Sheets, including any personal data (email addresses) you submit for verification.
• You represent that you have the legal right to process the email addresses you submit, and that doing so complies with all applicable laws, including GDPR and CAN-SPAM.
• You are responsible for obtaining any required consent from individuals whose email addresses you verify.
• You must keep your Google account credentials secure and notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.

6. Service Availability

We provide the Addon on a best-effort basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. The Addon may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control. We will make reasonable efforts to minimize downtime and to notify users of planned maintenance where practicable.

7. Accuracy of Results

Verification results (Valid, Invalid, Risky, Unknown) are informational only. Email deliverability can change at any time due to factors outside our control (e.g., mail server configuration changes, temporary blocks). We do not guarantee 100% accuracy of verification results. Results should be used as a guide to improve list hygiene, not as a definitive determination of email validity.

8. Limitations of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Makeinfo and its affiliates, officers, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of or inability to use the Addon, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total cumulative liability to you for any claims arising under these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid to us for the Addon in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or USD $50, whichever is greater.

9. No Warranty

The Addon is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Addon will meet your requirements or that its operation will be uninterrupted or error-free.

10. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Addon at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or applicable law. You may terminate your use of the Addon at any time by uninstalling it from your Google account. Uninstalling the Addon revokes all OAuth permissions granted to the Addon.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of competent jurisdiction. 12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Addon after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using and uninstall the Addon.

13. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Makeinfo with respect to the Addon and supersede all prior agreements and understandings, whether written or oral, relating to the Addon.
