Person Profile Enrichment: How to Turn a Name into a Complete, Verified Contact Record

Most prospect lists start with just a name and company. Full profile enrichment adds verified email, phone, job title, seniority, and LinkedIn URL — the complete contact record your CRM and sequences need.

A name and a company name are the minimum viable input for B2B contact enrichment. With those two data points, you can find a verified email, direct phone, job title, LinkedIn URL, and seniority level for most people in the professional database.

The challenge is doing this accurately, at scale, without a different tool for each data type.

The gap between what most teams have (name + company) and what they need for effective outreach (all of the above) is significant. Closing that gap manually takes 5–10 minutes per contact at best.


Multiple Input Formats

Not all contact lists start from the same place. Enrichment should accept:

Name + company (most common): Resolution uses LinkedIn search to identify the profile, then enrichment providers for contact data.

LinkedIn URL (most accurate): Direct input to enrichment providers for email and phone. Profile data extracted directly from the URL.

Email address (reverse enrichment): Work email can be used to reverse-lookup name, title, LinkedIn URL, and sometimes phone. Useful for enriching CRM contacts that have email but no profile data.

Domain only (company-level)**: Enriches all known contacts at a company domain — useful for account-based outreach when you want to reach multiple personas at the same account.

Supporting all four reduces friction when your list comes in different formats — as lead lists always do in practice.


Job Title Normalization: Why It Matters

Raw job titles are messy. “Sr. Manager, Revenue Operations” and “Senior RevOps Manager” are the same seniority tier. “VP, Global Sales Development” and “VP Sales” are different in scope but the same tier.

CRM systems accumulate inconsistent titles because every person enters their own title text. Without normalization:

  • ICP scoring by seniority is unreliable
  • Routing rules by title keyword are brittle
  • Reporting by segment is inaccurate

Normalized enrichment applies a classification engine that maps any title to:

  • Seniority tier: C-Suite, VP, Director, Manager, Individual Contributor
  • Department: Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Finance, Operations, HR, Legal, Product, IT, Customer Success
  • Functional role: SDR, AE, Marketing Ops, RevOps, etc.

These normalized fields enable clean ICP scoring, routing, and reporting that raw titles can’t provide.


Stale Record Detection

For CRM enrichment runs — where you’re re-enriching existing contacts rather than new ones — detecting staleness is as important as filling gaps.

Stale signals:

  • Email bounced on recent campaign: Flag for re-enrichment
  • Title mismatch: Enriched title differs from CRM title (person may have changed roles)
  • Company mismatch: Enriched company differs from CRM company (person may have left)
  • LinkedIn shows different current employer: Strong staleness indicator

For each re-enriched record, compare the new enrichment result against the existing CRM field. Differences above a confidence threshold are flagged as “changed” and queued for rep review.

This turns your enrichment run into a CRM health check — surfacing contacts who have changed jobs (potential churn risk if they’re customers, or a new prospect opportunity if they moved to a target account).

The coverage variance comes from data source quality, geographic mix, and company size distribution in the list. Enriching a list of VP+ titles at Fortune 500 companies produces higher coverage than enriching a list of founders at seed-stage startups — because established company employees are more likely to appear in enrichment databases.


Building an Enrichment Quality Audit

After each enrichment run, review quality metrics:

  • Coverage rate: What % of records got an email? A phone?
  • Confidence distribution: What % of emails are “verified” vs. “likely valid” vs. “risky”?
  • Provider hit rate: Which provider found the most results on this list type?
  • Bounce rate on campaign send: If you’re tracking post-send, what % of enriched emails bounced?

The bounce rate feedback loop is the most important long-term quality signal. If enriched emails bounce at 8%, your verification confidence is lower than expected. If they bounce at 2%, your enrichment quality is high.
